SeedHope Testimony - From Rejection to Redemption: A Journey into the Arms of Christ

Kripa's story | India | John 8:11 NKJV

"Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more." – John 8:11 NKJV

She was born into rejection.

Her birth parents, devout Hindus, already had twelve daughters.

Desperate for a son, they had no room in their hearts for another girl. She wasn’t the child they wanted, and so, she was cast aside.

Another couple took her in, perhaps with good intentions, but her incessant crying proved too much for them. They, too, gave up on her.

Dark, moody illustration of people in various poses: sitting, crouching, and looking. Warm hues, shadowy textures, and scattered handwritten text.
The past does not define you

Eventually, a woman adopted her. A woman who, for a fleeting season, showed her what love could look like.

That woman was kind, gentle, and nurturing. For the first time, the little girl felt safe.

Unfortunately, that safety wasn't meant to last.

The woman passed away, and the husband she left behind became a source of relentless torment. He was supposed to be an adoptive father to a little girl, but became her abuser instead.

For nine harrowing years, the girl endured unspeakable abuse.

Physical, verbal, emotional, financial, and sexual. All at the hands of someone who was supposed to protect her.

To the outside world, he appeared as her guardian.

Behind closed doors, he was her oppressor.

She grew up surrounded by idols, fear, and silence.

The concept of God existed, but not in a way that brought peace.

She knew only of punishment, never grace.

Pain, Survival, and a Desperate Choice

In time, she made her way to college in a foreign land, an achievement against all odds.

But as she pursued her education, financial pressures mounted.

With nowhere to turn, someone suggested sex work as a means to survive. She hesitated.

The very thought repulsed her.

But then, a dark logic crept in: After years of sexual abuse, what difference would it make now? At least this way, she will be "in control" and be compensated for what had always been stolen. So she agreed. In that country, it was legal, so she broke no earthly laws.

But inside, she was unraveling.

Her soul, already battered, sank deeper into despair.

One night, hungry during a shift, she called the front desk to say she was going out for food. The receptionist offered her cookies instead. When the cookies arrived, they were taped to something... bound securely to a Bible.

The cookies nourished her body.

But the Word would soon begin to feed her soul.

A Divine Encounter

Bored more than curious, she one day opened the Bible.

Her eyes fell on John 8:11 — the story of the woman caught in adultery.

The religious elite had tried to trap Jesus by shaming the woman. But Jesus did not shame. He did not condemn. He forgave.

His words stunned her.

This was not the angry, punishing God she had feared all her life. This was a Savior.

A redeemer who knelt to defend the broken, not destroy them.

Could this Jesus really love someone like her?

A girl the world had used, abused, and thrown away?

A former Hindu. A prostitute. An outcast?

Yes.

He could.

And He did.

A New Beginning

Seven years after her last conversation with a former schoolmate, that same friend suddenly reached out. Out of nowhere, this long-lost friend started to share the Gospel with her.

They talked several times after that, clearing doubts, asking hard questions. Her friend answered it all with patience and truth.

On February 15, 2019, she was born again! Not in body, but in spirit.

She had met her Savior.

Unfortunately, following Jesus didn’t make life easier. In fact, it felt harder at times as she started to stand up for herself and against her abuser. She walked away from sin. She rejected the idols of her past religion and the fear that had ruled her life.

Then, one day, God gave her the courage and strength to walk out of her abuser's house.

In broad daylight, no arguments. No force. Just freedom. A deliverance.

Her own Exodus story.

Woman with a headscarf and tears in a glowing golden light; red text reads "Washed clean by the blood of the lamb." Mournful mood.
His blood covers it all.

Boldness Through Christ

For two years, she kept her story hidden.

Fear bound her as her abuser still lived.

He still held sway.

But God reminded her:

Just as He crushed Pharaoh’s pursuit of the Israelites, He would protect her too.

That truth gave her boldness.

Today, she shares her story, not because she is fearless, but because her Deliverer is faithful.

She is no longer defined by the names the world gave her:

Rejected, abandoned, prostitute, abused.

She is now called:

Redeemed, restored, chosen, loved.

Where She Stands Today

By God’s grace, she is rooted in a Bible-believing church.

She is growing in her faith and preparing to walk fully in the purpose God has for her life. She doesn’t have all the answers — but she has Jesus.

And that is more than enough.

To anyone who feels unseen, unworthy, or unloved, her life is proof:

Jesus sees you.

He loves you.

And He stands ready to rewrite your story to His glory.

He did it for her.

He can do it for you.
